Danny's Third Birthdays.

Our Super Dan turned 3 last week!!
I had a huge awesome mom moment and told B we had nothing going on in the beginning of the week and said he could go on a business trip right around and during his birthday. My mom of the year award should be arriving in the mail any day now, don't worry. We weren't able to switch the dates once I made the mistake and so we just went ahead and had a not birthday with the boy.
Here he is on the eve of his not birthday. Cat is still his favorite - the girls chose it for him on the day he was born (With Oma) and Danny and Cat have been buds ever since.  Kids always seem so lovey and innocent while they're sleeping. Especially Danny.

We got the balloons, streamers and present ready for him for the morning.
 
6:00 the next morning he peeked in my room and said "It's me birfday. Me open me present now?" So I got him all cuddled up on the couch with a sippy cup of warm milk and his present and let him watch cars til the rest of the family was awake. He said "Me open it just a yiddle bit?" haha. But was okay with waiting after I let him snuggle his present.

FINALLY everyone was awake and it's present time!

Just what he wanted! The exact same thing we got his buddy Lucas for his birthday.  :)

We really wanted to take Danny to a place that sells machines so that he could check out the diggers and stuff but it just poured and poured rain so we decided to take him to McDonald's for lunch and let them play at the play place. But the play place was SO busy that people were standing inside to eat. So we ate at a regular, plain old table and told them we'd take them to Go Bananas (An indoor children's play place) instead. But when we got there the parking lot was cram packed and people were parking across the street and parents were dragging their crying, kicking, screaming kids out the door. So we decided to pass. A few tears of disappointment later we ended up at the toy store and bought the kids all new trains  (They're WAY cheaper at Toy Traders!), went home and set up a HUGE train track that went from the living room to the front room and they all had fun. Phew!
Bryant also built Daniel this completely awesome digger for the sandbox and as you can tell Danny is just thrilled to bits!




He had a birthday bath. Because baths are pretty much his favorite thing ever.

And he wanted a man sandwich for dinner :)

And I made sure to remember a cake (He chose cupcakes instead) because last year I completely forgot and we ended up with Timbits as a cake. Haha. Remember this? I can't believe how little he was!!

  So here he is this year. Watching the sparkler.

And we ended the day with fireworks. It was a fun day :)
Then for his real actual birthday we stayed at Oma and Opa's house while Daddy was away. We started the day off with cupcakes. Yum!



And then we went to the States with Oma in her new bus. I didn't get a pic of that?! Ugh. Where is my brain? She bought a new (To her. It's not new, actually) 16 passenger bus and we're SO excited because now we can all travel in the same vehicle! Danny calls it the "Bue bus". We went with Meghan and Isaiah as well. And we went on a little trip to the US. It was a beautiful day so we decided to go and check out some machines and Danny was SO excited to sit on all the machines. The owners of the place were SO great and let us wander and let him sit on the machines. I can't remember the name of the place, though. But it was fun.

We also went to Wal Mart, stopped for more McDonald's and then ice cream on the way home. Of course! Thanks Oma and Auntie Meghan for making this such a fun time for him! :D
We got back to Oma's for a little down time. Here he is having a "yiddle nappy" on my bed with his pal Cat and new stuffed dog.

There was a super cool double rainbow on his birthday! Thanks Maria for taking this pic. She wasn't impressed with it and announced that it looked like a silly shooting star!

I wanted a photo of him with the rainbow but he wouldn't take one alone. So here are our ridiculous and funny attempts at self photos of me and him and the rainbow together :) (You can see the back end of Oma's bus in the background there...)

And a new fishing rod from Uncle Dean! (He's already caught two fish since then!)

Happy birthday, Daniel! We're so proud of you and are so thankful for you in our lives! You're a fantastic little kid and we love your happy smile, big hugs, silly thoughts and how you always want to understand everything. We're stoked to see what God has for you at three. You're a blessing and we love you. A lot, a lot!
